Given the incredible cost of medical care

Given the incredible cost of medical care it is absolutely essential that you maintain health insurance. Given the critical nature of health insurance in American society though unfortunately there are several myths floating around out there when it comes to medical insurance. These myths include the following:

-It is better to have an employer health plan if available
-Health insurance is too expensive
-Health insurance is a waste of money for the young

The first myth arises due to the fact traditionally these plans covered everything. The problem with these plans is the costs associated with them have to account for the average composition of the work force. So if you are relatively healthy and young and rarely use medical services in a sense you are subsidizing those in the company with chronic conditions. As a young and healthy individual you may actually have lower cost or better coverage available if you go out and sign up for your own plan.

In terms of health insurance being too expensive it is actually relatively cheap compared to the risk of coming down with a chronic illness. Hospital stays can reach in to six figures and no one can anticipate when they will become ill. Many people without insurance are driven to bankruptcy should tragedy strike.

In terms of health insurance being a waste of money for young people the same issues as the previous point apply. It is fairly cheap to be insured when you are young and healthy and the costs of coming down with a tragic illness and not having insurance could ruin your future prospects.

How to explain things to your Insurance

How to explain things to your Insurance

Explaining things to your insurance can be difficult. Oftentimes we fear they wont believe us or pays us what they owe. Although explaining things to your insurance can be difficult it is necessary and will be easier if you follow some basic rule.

The first rule of explaining things to your insurance is to be honest. Although you may fell like you can get more than what owed this usually backfires. Even if against all odds you do succeed this makes the rates go up for everyone else.

Another rule to consider when dealing with your insurance is to be courteous. No matter what you do in life it pays to be courteous and insurance is no exception. If you are polite to the insurance representatives and don’t lose your temper they are more likely to help you.

If you follow these steps you should be able to get what you are owed from the insurance company. Sometimes however hard you try the insurance company wont help you. If they don’t it pays to get a lawyer. The best lawyers are the ones that work contingency basis. This means they will only get paid if you win. Although most lawyers are very don’t expect miracles from you lawyer.

Will an Overhaul of Heath Care Costs do us any good?

Will an Overhaul of Heath Care Costs do us any good?

President Obama plans to overhaul medical coverage costs. He wants to make insurance more affordable and at the same time, have the quality of healthcare be more superior. For those who don’t know what is really going on behind the scenes, let me fill you in. Health care has risen over $2.4 trillion a year. This is due to the fact that we have the baby boomer generation, more medical research, an increasing aging population, and Big Pharma.

Health care will never be perfect. Did you know that we have more toxins in our food than in previous years? We have companies like Monsanto to thank for that. There is also an Italian doctor who is curing cancer with baking soda. Can you imagine the cost of health insurance going down if we got rid of just two things; toxins in our food and lobbyist. The cure to our health insurance isn’t in the cost, it is the people behind the scenes who are. The lobbyist and the big prescription companies will never let the cost of health care fall as long as people are still getting sick. Cut out the cancer causing revolving door lobbyist and toxic companies like Monsanto, and you have all but cured the health care cost.

Australians are taking out more life insurance

Australians are taking out more life insurance and insurers profit

The modern financial chaos has led to ever more uncertainty in our lives. However, two things are still certain – death and taxes. And with the economy tanking, taxes are only going to go up. Whether to offset potential estate taxes upon death or merely to provide certainty of support for their families after death, life insurance sales are skyrocketing. Many people are realizing the need to provide for their families after they are gone. Even those who already had coverage are increasing their life insurance coverage.

This is why AMP increased a 29 percent in operating earnings and CommInsure saw 18 percent growth. They are not only gaining new customers for all types of insurance, their existing customers are increasing their coverage or getting additional policies – without much more overhead expense to the company. Life insurance is a primary driver for this income growth. This is proven by the example of Tower, which only offers life insurance, which saw a 14 percent growth in 2008.

When times are uncertain, more people take responsibility to provide certainty and stability for their families. Because of this realignment of priorities, insurers will continue to see revenue growth even in our down financial market.

Bankruptcy the Social Norm

Bankruptcy the Social Norm

Once upon a time it was embarrassing for people to claim Bankruptcy. It was a proud moment in someone’s life when they bought a house. That was the American Dream. Now, banks have single handedly screwed it up for everyone. Home foreclosure and bankruptcy are now becoming acceptable in everyday modern America. It is almost as if people are expected to file bankruptcy. We have made it acceptable, which in reality should be the opposite.
Call me old school, but at a young twenty four years of age, I have learned more in the past year then someone in their fifties may have over there past twenty. No I have not foreclosed on my home, no I have not filed for bankruptcy, but what I have done is watched our banks and stock market come to a rapid halt. I don’t understand what the banks were doing when they starting loaning money to unqualified buyers. I realize the government made them to a certain extent, but the banks you see that are flourishing today didn’t take part in that sort of practice. It obviously wasn’t forced upon them. It is sad to see people lose their homes and I hope they stop home foreclosure. I don’t think giving the power to judges is going to help, but it seems like an option.
